I am a qualified Occupational Therapist with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy (BSc OT) from the University of the Western Cape, graduating in 2023. I completed my community service year at Far East Rand Hospital in 2024, where I gained valuable experience working within a multidisciplinary team across paediatric and general healthcare settings. I am currently completing further training in Sensory Integration through SAISI to deepen my expertise in supporting children with sensory processing and neurodevelopmental difficulties. My approach to care is holistic, child-centred, and evidence-based. I focus on understanding each child’s unique strengths, sensory profile, and developmental needs, while collaborating closely with families and teachers to ensure strategies are practical and consistent across environments. Therapy is goal-directed and participation-focused, supporting children to build the skills and regulation needed to engage meaningfully in their daily activities at home, school, and within their community.

I am a Speech Therapist with 4 years experience working with children and their families. I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Cape Town. I completed my community service year at St Andrews Hospital, where I gained valuable experience in a hospital setting. During this time, I worked with a diverse patient population and developed interdisciplinary collaboration and acute care management. I have also completed a Paediatric Dysphagia training provided by Grey's Hospital, further enhancing my skills in supporting children with feeding and swallowing difficulties. I am passionate about working in paediatrics , supporting children who experience speech and language delays, literacy barriers, and auditory processing difficulties. I am committed to providing therapy that is evidence-based and individualised, ensuring that each child's strengths and developmental needs guide the intervention process. I believe meaningful progress happens when therapy extends beyond the session room. For this reason, I work closely with families, educators and a multidisciplinary team to create consistent supportive environments that build confidence and functional communication skills.

With over 18 years of experience as a Speech Therapist, I am passionate about helping children find their voice and reach their full communication potential. I graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand with a dual qualification, BA hon Speech - Language Pathology and Audiology. My work focuses primarily on paediatrics, where I support children with language delays, literacy challenges, dyslexia, and auditory processing difficulties. I take a child-centered, evidence-based approach, tailoring therapy to each child’s unique strengths and needs. I work closely with families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to create supportive environments that foster confidence, independence, and meaningful progress. I particularly enjoy working within a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with psychologists, occupational therapists, educators, and other professionals to ensure a holistic and integrated approach to each child’s development. Over the years, I have developed a strong commitment to early identification and intervention, empowering children not only to improve their communication skills but also to thrive academically and socially. I am a trained Dyslexia Diagnostician and Therapist through the Southern African Dyslexia Association (SGDA), and have completed advanced training in Visualizing and Verbalizing through Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes, as well as RAVE-O training through Bellavista School. These specialised programmes allow me to provide evidence-based assessment and intervention tailored to each child’s unique learning profile. Outside of my professional role, I am a proud mother to a 10-year-old son with a passion for mountain biking. Supporting his dedication to sport has deepened my appreciation for resilience, confidence, and perseverance—qualities I also encourage in the children and families I work with every day. My goal is always to make therapy engaging, practical, and impactful—helping every child build the skills they need for lifelong success.

A professional with 20 years plus experience in local and international settings Samantha has worked in acute, rehabilitation and community settings and led teams both as a clinical specialist and service manager. Samantha has a deep passion for creating access to quality healthcare through evidence based and technology driven solutions to enhance service quality, efficacy and affordability. Samantha has a special interest in complex neurology as well as literacy, dyslexia and dyscalculia. She is receiving her remedial accreditation and is now pursuing her PHD within the scope of literacy challenges and solutions in the South African context.
